In the wild, the Black and gold Chromis, also known as Behn’s damselfish inhabits the Indo-West Pacific where it is found in coral-rich areas of seaward reefs and lagoons where it feed on algae, crustaceans, and pelagic tunicates and salps. This hardy and nice looking fish is one of the easiest fish which makes it a good fish for beginners. Juveniles are yellow with two black stripes. As they become adult, they will loose their black stripes and become brownish with the back third yellow.
